EPL Worst 11 of the Year

With the PFA Team of the Year recently been announce, it was no surprise to see the eleven spots occupied with eight players from Leicester and Tottenham (each had four players). Seeing the picks for the team of the year is always exciting, but so is seeing the worst team of year. So according to me, here is the worst team of the year.

GK. Arthur Boruc

Though he’s been slowly improving, in January Boruc had the worst save percentage in the league. His most memorable low-light came against Tottenham at the start of the season where he was arguably at fault for all the goals he let in.

RB. Alan Hutton

This has been a season to forget for Hutton. He’s scored the most own goals this season and also recorded one red card.

CB. Micah Richards

Remember when everyone thought Micah Richards was going to be England’s next new big talent? Yeah neither do I. Playing for a team that has let in 69 goals all season, which is the worst in the league, everything just went wrong for Richards this season.

CB. Federico Fernandez

No one has given away more passes in their half this season than Fernandez. At the halfway mark in January he had already misplaced 95 passes.

LB. Carl Jenkinson

First off he’s not even a left back and he’s mainly on here because I don’t like his face but he’s also given away the most PK’s in the league.

LM. Eden Hazard

With 2 goal and 3 assists in 27 appearances, the last season’s PFA Player of the Year is nowhere close to the form he had last season.

RM. Memphis Depay

He’s another player that failed miserably at living up to expectations after scoring 22 goals in the Dutch league last season but he’s only managed 2 in 26 this term.

CM. Idrissa Gueye

Gueye has committed the most fouls in the league this season and that was enough to get him on the list. Also, he plays for Aston Villa.

CM. Jack Colback

When you have 10 times as many yellow cards as goals , you’re bound to make it on the list. I mean OK he’s had 10 yellows and 1 goal but that’s still bad.

FW. Saido Berahino

This dude missed 2 PK’s in the same game against Watford a few weeks ago. That alone might have been the only reason I added him to the list but he’s also had a very poor season. After West Brom blocked his move to Tottenham last summer, his performance has been shocking. Scoring 4 goals in 29 appearances, as a striker this is just awful.

FW. Cameron Jerome

Just watch these two videos. They’ll show you why Jerome is on the list.
